Troilee Dutta is a name that is frequently uttered in today’s sarod playing world as a notable young sarod player. Her inherent interest in music bloomed when she was around the age of five years. She started to get acquainted with Sarod under the affectionate guidance of Pandit Kamal Mallick, the famous sarod player of Kolkata. She was fortunate to receive the most coveted taalim from him. Currently she is receiving intensive guidance on advanced techniques of music making from Pt. Sanjoy Bandopadhaya, the eminent sitar virtuoso.
In the year 2009 Troilee Dutta stood first in both the competitions organized by “Sri Aurobindo Institute Of Culture, Kolkata.” and “The Dover Lane Music Conference & The Dover Lane Music Academy.”
She was the first class first (Gold Medallist) in M.A. (Music) from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. She has also qualified UGC-NET for Lectureship and awarded Junior Research Fellowship. She is now perusing her Ph.D. undert the Department of Instrumental Music at the Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata.
- She was awarded ‘Sangeet Ratna’ by the Bangio Sangeet Parisad.
- She is a B-High grade artist of All India Radio.
- The Ministry of Culture, Government of India selected her for National Scholarship for her music from the year 2010-2011.
She participated in many musical soirees. Some important names among them are; The Dover Lane Music Conference, Kolkata, Bangladesh Silpakala Academy, Dhaka; Shibpur Ranjini’s Nightlong Programme, Sangeet Piyasi, Jhulanbati Sangeet Sammelan – Kolkata, Sohini, Brahamapur Suromurchona, Suchetana, Ma-Nishaad, The National Library, Nijam Palace- Kolkata, Labanya Sangeetalaya, Vivek Mela organized by Vivekananda Study center and Ramkrishna Mission- Kolkata, Recreation Club of Punjab National Bank.
In Television she has performed in Tara Music’s Jalsaghar & “Aaj Sokaler Amantrone” live. She also performed in Kolkata TV live.
